Information Sheet

The quality of a speaker is no less important just because it’s out of sight - in fact, with ceiling-mounted units, it can be more so. Designed to smoothly integrate and architecturally match with existing downlighting sharing the same size bezel, KEF’s trademark Uni-Q®technology has a decisive performance advantage in these applications, because each point source

driver array evenly disperses the sound, ensuring a smooth frequency response over a large area to create a spacious three-dimensional soundscape with genuine texture and depth.

With a two-way Uni-Q driver of 100mm (4”), the Ci100QR is as satisfyingly musical to hear as it is neat in appearance.

Ci 100QR specifications

KEF Audio has long been recognized for its innovative approach to loudspeaker design, and their Ci 100QR in-ceiling speaker stands as a testament to this legacy. Tailored for both aesthetics and acoustic excellence, the Ci 100QR is an ideal choice for integrated home audio systems, bringing superior sound quality to any architectural setting.

One of the standout features of the KEF Ci 100QR is its unique Uni-Q driver array. This technology positions a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter at the acoustic center of a 5.25-inch aluminum cone woofer, creating a single point source of sound. The result is an incredibly immersive listening experience, where the highs and lows blend seamlessly, producing a wide soundstage that outperforms traditional loudspeaker designs. This configuration ensures a more consistent sound across different listening positions in the room.

Complementing its driver technology, the Ci 100QR incorporates a tapered, low diffraction cabinet design. This feature minimizes any reflections or distortion that can compromise sound fidelity. Moreover, its steel chassis is designed to achieve rigidity, enhancing the clarity and precision of audio reproduction. The speaker also comes with a clever magnetic grille, allowing for easy removal and installation, enabling custom aesthetics that align with the decor of any space.

The KEF Ci 100QR is engineered to handle up to 100 watts of power, giving it ample headroom for dynamic audio playback. With a frequency response ranging from 70 Hz to 30 kHz, this in-ceiling speaker captures both deep bass notes and soaring highs, ensuring that users experience a full spectrum of sound. Its sensitivity rating of 88 dB means it can deliver robust output even with modest amplification, making it an excellent fit for both dedicated home theaters and casual listening environments.

Installation is straightforward, with KEF providing an innovative cutout template and spring-loaded dog leg clamps that ensure secure placement in a variety of ceiling materials. Whether in a new construction or retrofitting an existing space, the Ci 100QR adapts easily to various architectural challenges.

In summary, the KEF Audio Ci 100QR combines cutting-edge technology with practical design, making it an exceptional choice for anyone looking to enhance their audio experience without compromising aesthetics. Its robust performance, integration capabilities, and eye-catching design make it a top contender in the in-ceiling speaker market.
