Keep small children away from the machine. And never let the flex hang down over the worktop edge - a child could grab it and pull the machine down. Push excess flex inside the back of the machine.

Do not use if there is any damage to the machine, flex or plug. Get it checked or repaired: see ‘service and customer care’, page 5.

Never put the machine in water or let the flex or plug get wet.

Watch out for steam and never touch the hotplate.

This machine is for domestic use only.

This machine is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.

before plugging in

Make sure your electricity supply is the same as the one shown on the underside of your machine.

important - UK only The wires in the flex are coloured as follows:

Green and Yellow = Earth, Blue = Neutral, Brown = Live.

This machine complies with European Economic Community Directive 89/336/EEC.

before using for the first time

1Remove all packaging.

2Wash the parts: see ‘care and cleaning’, page 4.

3Push excess flex inside the back of the machine.

4Run two lots of water through the machine (without coffee) to clean it out. Fill the tank to the top cup mark when you do this. See ‘to make coffee’.
