7Note on data erasure before disposal or transfer
The player incorporates a HDD. If the player is disposed of or transferred to a third party in the same condition as it has been used, the data stored in the HDD may be known by the third party. It is recommended erase all HDD data before disposal or transfer.
However, if you simply perform the data erasure or HDD formatting operation, the data may be restored by a malicious third party. If you wish to ensure the confidentiality of the data you stored in the HDD, you need to erase the data using commercially available data erasure software.
