These photographic modulation-transfer values weredeterminedby using a method similar to the one described inANSIStandard PH2.39-1977(R1990). The film was exposedwith the specified illuminant to spatially varying sinusoidaltestpatterns having an aerial image modulation of a nominal60percent at the image plane, with processing as indicated.In most cases, the photographic modulation-transfer valuesareinfluenced by development-adjacency effects and are notequivalent to the true optical modulation-transfer curve ofthe emulsion layer in the particular photographic product.
