Setup
1.Plug the power supply into an electrical outlet and connect the power cable to the hard disk MAX.
2.Connect the USB 2.0 cable to your computer and to the hard disk MAX.
Power Switch
3.Turn on the hard disk MAX by moving the power switch on the back to the ON position.
4.Install and run the LaCie Setup Assistant:
Mac Users: Double click the drive icon on the desktop and run the LaCie Setup Assistant application.
Windows Users: Double click the drive icon in My Computer or Computer (Vista users) and run the LaCie Setup Assistant application.
The LaCie Setup Assistant will guide you through the process of optimizing your LaCie hard disk MAX, Design by Neil Poulton for your needs.
The disks are configured in BIG mode (spanning), which optimizes your drive for speed and capacity but provides no security in the event of a drive failure. If you would like to change the RAID mode, see Changing the RAID Configuration.
