Sonachron (DWA-S) can be synchronized to Lathem’s LTRx-512 master, LTR-0 master, LTR-GPS receiver, RC-MS master or Omni:ChronII time clock reference devices. Distance from the source can be extended using Lathem’s SWIFT485+ repeater.

Omni:ChronII Time Recorder can be equipped with an optional RS485 transmitter for communication with the DWA-S. When installed, the DWA-S will synchronize with the time and date from the Omni:ChronII each minute.

When installing multiple DWA-S units, all units EXCEPT the one at the end of the RS485 line require jumper E2 be cut. When E2 is installed, a 100 ohm terminating resistor is internally connected across the RS485 line to reduce the signal reflection and thereby improve reception. E2, located on the far left side of the CPU circuit board, can be accessed by removing the left end cap. Refer to the Figure on Page 8.

DWA-S specifications

The Lathem DWA-S is a cutting-edge time and attendance solution designed for businesses that seek to streamline their timekeeping processes. This system is specifically tailored to meet the needs of modern workplaces, integrating advanced technologies that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

One of the standout features of the DWA-S is its ability to support both direct and indirect employee time tracking. This flexibility allows organizations to choose the method that best suits their operational structure, whether it be through a simple punch-in and punch-out process or more complex schedules that require detailed reporting.

The DWA-S utilizes advanced biometric technology, such as fingerprint recognition, to enhance security and reduce time theft. By requiring employees to verify their identity using their unique fingerprints, the system ensures that attendance records are authentic, thereby promoting accountability in the workforce. This feature is particularly beneficial for businesses that employ a high number of hourly workers, as it minimizes the risk of buddy punching.

In terms of connectivity, the Lathem DWA-S is equipped with both Ethernet and Wi-Fi capabilities. This dual connectivity allows for seamless integration with existing payroll systems and makes it easy to access attendance data in real-time. Employers can retrieve reports and analytics that are crucial for optimizing labor management, ultimately leading to better workforce planning.

Another key aspect of the DWA-S is its user-friendly interface. Designed with ease of use in mind, the touchscreen display simplifies the process for employees and administrators alike. The intuitive navigation facilitates quick setup and operation, reducing the learning curve for new users and ensuring that organizations can begin reaping the benefits of the system almost immediately.

Additionally, the DWA-S is built to withstand the rigors of a busy work environment. Its robust construction ensures durability, while its sleek design makes it an attractive addition to any workplace. Furthermore, the system is designed to operate effectively across a range of temperatures, confirming its suitability for various industrial settings.

In summary, the Lathem DWA-S stands out as a reliable time and attendance solution that combines advanced biometric technology, dual connectivity, and user-friendly functionality. Its ability to enhance accuracy and security in employee time tracking makes it a valuable asset for any organization looking to improve payroll efficiency and workforce management.
