Blood Flow through the Heart
1. Itbegins by bringing oxygen-rich blood from the
lungsinto the left atrium.
2. Thenthe blood moves through the mitral valve
andinto the left ventricle.
3. Fromthe left ventricle it moves through the
aorticvalve.
4. Fromthe aortic valve it goes to the
aorta,which then sends the blood
throughoutthe entire body.
5. Thebody uses up all the nutrients and
oxygenfrom the blood and returns it to
theheart into the superior and inferior
venacava.
6. Fromthere the blood goes into the right
atriumand through the tricuspid valve.
7. Aftermoving the tricuspid valve the blood then
entersthe right ventricle.
8. Thenthe blood moves through the pulmonary valve into the
pulmonaryartery.
9. Thepulmonary artery then sends the blood to the lungs to become full of
oxygenagain and it is sent back into the heart into the left atrium.
10. The blood has now completely circulated through the entire body.
