Categorize subject matter with the chart’s four-column design. Customize lessons with the blank write-and-wipe cards.

Chart Set-Up

Separate and store the cards in the large pocket on the back of the chart. Use the blank seventeen-inch cards as title cards and place them in the clear pocket atop the chart.

Place the K, W, H and L cards in the first long, clear vinyl pocket. Ask students what they know about a study topic and write their responses on the blank cards. Place these cards in the column under the K card. Follow the same procedure for the W, H and L columns.

For multiple uses of each card and to help prevent erasure of written notes, always use a wet- or dry-erase marker. To ensure that your marker doesn’t leave a permanent mark, test it on the corner of a card. Use a damp cloth to remove marks. Cards will warp if saturated with water.
