zIBM-compatible PCs utilizing an RS-232C interface

The RS-422A serial interface will attach to:

zRS/6000

zAS/400 ASCII workstation controller

The Centronics Parallel interface will attach to:

zRS/6000 workstations (excluding POWERserver(TM) 930)

zIBM PS/2 and IBM Personal Computer LPTx ports and to a Token-Ring or Ethernet LAN via one of these computers

zLAN attachment via the Network Print Server features.

zIBM-compatible PCs utilizing the Centronics Parallel interface

zAS/400 twinax terminals including IBM 348x InfoWindow II display stations, IBM 3477 InfoWindow display station, and IBM 3197 display workstation

z3482 InfoWindow II display

The following network print servers attach to the IBM 4247 via the parallel interface:

zEthernet 10BaseT (RJ45) Network Print Server

zEthernet 10Base2 (BNC) Network Print Server

zToken-Ring Media Type 3 (UTP/RJ45) Network Print Server

zToken-Ring Media Type 1 (STP/DB9) Network Print Server

The Network Print Server plugs into the parallel port of the 4247-A00 to provide direct LAN capability.

When attached to the 4247 printer, the Network Print Server requires an external power supply as described below. This power supply is included with the Network Print Server for the 4247 printer.
