L’Extender DVI-D peut être utilisé pour étendre un signal DVI-D (digital single link) sur de grandes distances. Jusqu’à 2 Extenders peuvent être cascadés ensemble, et lorsque vous utilisez des câbles de 15m LINDY SLD (Super Long Distance) DVI entre chaque Extender, un distance de transmission maximale de 45m en 800x600 est supportée!

Remarque: Pour être certain d’obtenir les meilleurs résultats avec l’Extender DVI, vous devez utiliser des câbles LINDY SLD!

Utilisation de l’Extender DVI

Remarque sur les extensions DVI: Les câbles LINDY SLD supportent des résolutions maximales et des distances comme indiquées ci-dessous :

15m @ 1600 x 1200 ou HDTV 1080i

20m @ 1280 x 1024

25m @ 1024 x 768

Cependant, à ces résolutions/distances vous pouvez utiliser une connexion simple DVI SLD entre la carte graphique et le moniteur, sans la nécessité d’un Extender DVI.

Pour de plus grandes distances vous pouvez utiliser des câbles DVI SLD en combinaison avec l’Extender DVI. 2 Extenders peuvent être utilisés avec used 3 câbles SLD maximum. Les exemples suivants indique les résolutions et distances maximales:

40m @ 1280 x 1024: Rallonge 20m SLD + Extender + Câble 20m SLD

45m @ 800 x 600: Rallonge 15m SLD + Extender + Rallonge 15m SLD + Extender + Câble 15m SLD

45m @ 1024 x 768: Rallonge 15m SLD + Extender + Rallonge 15m SLD + Extender + Câble 15m SLD*

60m @ 800 x 600: Rallonge 20m SLD + Extender + Rallonge 20m SLD + Extender + Câble 20m SLD*

*Remarque: Ces longueurs & résolutions sont supérieures à celles recommandées pour une performance optimale. Suivant la carte graphique utilisée, il se peut que vous observiez quelques dégradations de l’image lors de l’utilisation

Problèmes rencontrés

Les longueurs et les résolutions comme détaillées ci-dessus ont été testées avec des équipements comme des cartes graphiques ATI et Nvidia. Pour d’autres équipements DVI, la qualité et la distance de connexion peuvent être réduites voire incompatibles.

Si une installation nécessitant plusieurs extenders ne transmet pas d’images, vérifiez l’installation segment par segment pour vous assurer que chaque câble/extender est connecté correctement.

Si les problèmes persistent, essayez de réduire à 800x600. Si le signal est ensuite transmis de façon correcte dans cette résolution pour chaque segment, c’est un signe clair que la qualité du signal DVI n’est pas suffisante. Si c’est le cas, essayez de connecter un câble DVI SLD M/F plus court entre la source du signal DVI et l’entrée vidéo du premier extender DVI. Réglez ensuite à nouveau la résolution. Le signal devrait s’améliorer.

Il DVI-D Extender permette di trasmettere segnali DVI-D (digital single link) a grandi distanze. E’ possible collegare fino a 5 Extender sulla stessa linea e, utilizzando cavi DVI LINDY SLD (Super Long Distance) fra un extender e l’altro, è possible raggiungere una distanza massima di 90m!

NOTA BENE: Per ottenere la massima qualità trasmissiva il DVI Extender deve essere utilizzato in abbinamento ai cavi LINDY SLD!

Utilizzo del DVI Extender

Nota sull’estensione dei segnali video DVI: Risoluzione e distanza massima supportata dai cavi LINDY SLD :

15m @ 1600 x 1200 o HDTV 1080i

20m @ 1280 x 1024

25m @ 1024 x 768

Per queste distanza/risoluzioni potete utilizzare solamente un cavo DVI SLD e connettere direttamente la scheda grafica e il monitor senza utilizzare il DVI Extender.

Per distanze superiori dovete obbligatoriamente utilizzare i cavi DVI SLD in abbinamento al DVI Extender. Cercate di utilizzare cavi SLD di lunghezza simile per mantenere una trasmissione bilanciata del segnale. Potete fare riferimento ai seguenti esempi:

40m @ 1280x1024 : Cavo SLD M/F 20m + Extender + Cavo SLD M/M 20m

45m @ 800x600: Cavo SLD M/F 15m + Extender + Cavo SLD M/F 15m + Extender + Cavo SLD M/M

45m @ 1024 x 768: Cavo SLD M/F 15m + Extender + Cavo SLD M/F 15m + Extender + Cavo SLD M/M 15m *

60m @ 800 x 600: Cavo SLD M/F 20m + Extender + Cavo SLD M/F 20m + Extender + Cavo SLD M/M 20m *

*Nota: Questa lunghezza e risoluzione sono sopra il limite massimo raccomandato per prestazioni ottimali. In dipendenza dalla scheda grafica e dal monitor utilizzati possono comparire dei disturbi nell’immagine.

Si possono installare più DVI Extender in cascata interconnettendoli con più cavi SLD fino ad una distanza massima di 90m. Non deve essere collegato nessun altro dispositivo DVI oltre ai DVI Extender fra la scheda grafica e il monitor! Installando altri prodotti DVI come splitter o switch, la distanza massima raggiungibile può scendere fino a 7.5m @ 1600x1200 o 15m @ 1024x768.

Risoluzione dei problemi:

La lunghezza e risoluzione massima supportata dai cavi è stata verificata con test approfonditi su schede grafiche di elevata qualità ATI e Nvidia. Per l’utilizzo con schede di qualità inferiore questi parametri potrebbero ridursi.

Se in un istallazione con extender multipli non viene trasmessa alcuna immagine controlIate ogni tratta verificando che tutti i cavi e gli extender siano collegati correttamente. Se il problema persiste provate a ridurre la risoluzione a 800x600. Se a questo punto l’immagine viene visualizzata correttamente è chiaro che la qualità del segnale video DVI generato dalla vostra scheda è insufficiente. In questo caso provate ad utilizzare un cavo DVI più corto (10m) fra la scheda grafica e il primo DVI Extender e riportate la risoluzione al livello desiderato. In alternativa potete
