Overview

The LINDY 10BaseT hubs are compatible with IEEE 802.3 10BaseT standard. The hubs are very compact and can be used in places with very limited space.

Installation and Use

Connect the power supply to the mains and to the 10BaseT hub. Connect the hub to your network interface card using a standard patch ead. To connect the hub to another hub, use a standard patch lead and connect it to the Uplink port of one of hubs.

Ethernet 10BaseT General Information

Please regard the following 10BaseT rules:

It is a star topology that requires no terminators.

The maximum length of 10BaseT between two hubs is 100m. The maximum length of 10BaseT between the hub and network interface card is 100m (including the patch cables).

Troubleshooting

If your Ethernet network seems to operate very slowly and the Collision LED is illuminated almost all of the time during operation it may be due to one of the following problems:

lCables are damaged, not compliant or not connected properly The network traffic is too high

At first you should check all the cables and connections. If the situation does not change it may be due to the fact there is too much traffic on the network. In this case the situation should be analysed by a professional network specialist.

Installation und Bedienung

Stecken Sie das Steckernetzteil in die Steckdose und verbinden Sie es mit dem 10BaseT Hub. Schließen Sie dann Ihre Endgeräte mit LINDY Patchkabeln an die Downstream Ports an sowie den Upstream Port zum Server bzw. zum Upstream Hub. Bei Verwendung von Standard Patchkabel ist am Uplink Port die Einstellung Uplink zu wählen.

Ethernet 10BaseT General Information

Beachten Sie bitte die Richtlinien für Strukturierte Verkabelung von 10BaseT Ethernet Netzwerken.

10BaseT ist ein Punkt-zu.Punkt Netzwerk in Sterntopologie. Es darf keine Ringverbindung hergestellt werden.

Es sind keine Terminatoren an den Endpunkten zu verwenden. Ein 10BaseT Netzwerk darf bis zu 5 Netzwerkebenen beinhalten. Es müssen RJ-45 STP oder UTP Kabel verwendet werden, die zumindest der Kategorie 3 (Level 3) entsprechen.

Die Maximallänge eines 10BaseT Segmentes beträgt 100m je Verbindung (inklusive Wand- und Anschlusskabel).

Der Uplink Port - in der Einstellung Uplink - dient zum Anschluß des Hubs an den Server bzw. zum Upstream Hub mit Standard Patch Kabel.

Fehlersuche

Wenn Ihr Ethernet Netzwerk fehlerhaft oder nur sehr langsam arbeitet und wenn die Collision LED fast ununterbrochen leuchtet kann dies grundsätzlich zwei Ursachen haben:

Kabel sind defekt, nicht kompatibel oder nicht richtig

langeschlossen

Es werden zu viele Daten über das Netzwerk transportiert

Im ersten Falle überprüfen Sie Kabel und Anschlüsse nacheinander. Im zweiten Falle sollten Sie die Umstellung auf ein 100BaseT Netz in Erwägung ziehen. Lassen Sie ihr Netzwerk von einem qualifizierten Netzwerktechniker überprüfen.
