Replacingcarbon brushes

Remove and check the carbon brushes regularly, Replace when they wear down to about 6 mm (1/4") or less. Keep the brushesclean and free to slip in the holders. Both brushes should be changed a t the same time. Use only Makita carbon brushes.

Loosen the screw and slide the cover plate aside.

Use a screwdriver to remove the brush holder cap as shown in the figure.
