Adjusting depth of cut

Loosen the lever on the depth guide and move the base up or down. At the desired depth of cut, secure the base by tightening

the lever.

CAUTION:

Use a shallow depth of cut when cutting thin workpiece for cleaner, safer cuts. After adjusting the depth of cut, always tighten the lever securely.

Sighting

When cutting, align the left side of notch in the front of the base with your cutting line on the workpiece.

Dust collection

CAUTION:

Never cut workpieces covered/stained with thinner, gasoline, oil or the like. If the dust box is stained with them, it may crack, causing an injury to operator.

This tool is equipped with the dust box to

collect dust and cut chips. For the best cut-Dust cap ting performance, empty the dust box each

time the battery cartridge is completely dis- charged. Press the lever and open the dust

cap. Tip the rear of the tool down to empty the dust box.

Cleaner cutting operations can be per- formed by connecting this tool to Makita vacuum cleaner. Remove the rubber cap from the dust cap and connect the hose of vacuum cleaner to the dust cap.
