-For a longer cut, use the comb that accompanies the trimmer to lift the hair on the top of the head. Then let the trimmer pass over the comb to cut the hair to the desired length. You can also use your fingers for this. Always work from the back forwards. You can cut the hair shorter by altering the distance from the scalp to the comb/your fingers. Comb any loose hair out, and check to see if there are any uneven sections.
Step 5
-Finally, use the trimmer without attaching a guide comb for a closer cut around the base and sides of the neck and ears.
-To achieve an even cut around the sideburns, turn the trimmer over. Press the trimmer gently and steadily against the skin and run it downwards to achieve a result similar to that of a razor.
Short cuts
-Using the longest guide comb, start at the base of the neck and then work up towards the crown. Hold the guide comb down flat against the scalp and work slowly through the hair.
-When cutting the sides, use the same procedure as for the neck.
-To achieve a ‘flat top’ look, cut the hair on the top of the head using a comb instead of a guide comb.
-Use a shorter guide comb for shorter hair at the sides and on the neck. Comb the hair and check to see if there are any uneven sections.
