PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Before using for the first time (or after a long period of storage), fill and boil the appliance three times.

1.Fill with water to the maximum mark on the water level gauge.

2.Switch on as described under "Using the Appliance". Allow the water to boil.

3.Pour out the water once it has boiled.

Repeat steps 2-4 twice. The appliance is now ready for use.

USE

1.Open the lid (8) using the release button (7).

2.Pour fresh water into the kettle. Fill the appliance with water at least to the minimum mark (“MIN”) and not exceeding the maximum mark (“MAX”). The marks are on the water level gauge

3.Close the lid by pressing the button for closing the lid (9) and make sure it clicks into place.

o Caution! If the lid is not correctly closed, the appliance does not automatically switch off, once the water boils.

4.Place the kettle on its base (3) by positioning it so the stud on the base

(4)fits into the hole on the underside of the kettle.

5.Insert the plug (1) in the mains socket and switch on the power.

o Caution! If you set the on/off switch (12) to the "I" position before replacing the kettle on the base, the kettle switches on automatically when replaced on the base. For safety’s sake, check the on/off switch position before replacing the kettle on the base to avoid accidentally starting the kettle.

6.Switch on the appliance by switching the on/off button forward to "I". The kettle will begin to heat the water.

o If you want to interrupt the boiling, you can do this at any time by switching the on/off button to position "0".

o Once the water is boiling, the kettle will automatically switch off thanks to the integrated thermostat. The on/off button automatically returns to position “0”.

Anti boil-dry device

If you switch the kettle on without having filled it with water, or when the water level is below the “MIN” mark, the anti boil-dry device will automatically switch it off. The kettle can be switched on normally as soon as it is filled with a sufficient amount of water.

Storage

The cord can be wound round the holder (2) at the bottom of the base.

Ensure the appliance is clean and dry before storing.

CLEANING

When cleaning the appliance, you should pay attention to the following points:

Remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.

Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.

Clean the appliance by wiping it with a damp cloth. A little detergent can be added if the appliance is heavily soiled.

Never use a scouring pad, steel wool or any form of strong solvents or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the appliance, as those may damage the outside surfaces of the appliance.

Make sure that no water gets into the connector on the base or the hole in the underside of the kettle.

Remove the limescale filter (10) from the appliance and gently clean it with a soft brush. Remove the filter by pulling it upwards and out of the holder. You can insert your finger through the spout (11) and gently press the filter to loosen its lower part. Replace the filter in the appliance after cleaning.
