Capsule plate

The capsule plate will soil more or less depending on the oil content of the coffee capsule used.

Clean the capsule plate as necessary or when the machine needs to be descaled with the supplied cleaning tablets. The cleaning tablets can be purchased from Miele.

^Press the checkered portion, a, down and pull the capsule plate, b, out.

^Dissolve one cleaning tablet in hot water.

^Place the capsule plate in the solution and let it soak for one hour.

^Rinse thoroughly and dry the capsule plate.

^Insert the capsule plate back into the machine until it clicks into place.

Steam valve

The small rubber sleeve which connects the steam valve to the cappuccinatore can be removed for cleaning. The sleeve as well as the steam valve tip (underneath the rubber sleeve) should be cleaned regularly.

^Press the steam lever down and pull off the rubber sleeve.

^Clean the rubber sleeve and the steam valve tip with a mild solution of warm water and liquid dish soap.

^Reattach the rubber sleeve firmly on the steam valve tip. Be sure it is seated correctly.

^Push the steam lever up

If the steam valve is down when the door is closed, it could cause damage.
