Exclusions
NormalWear and Tear.Periodic maintenance, repair and
replacementof parts due to normal wear and tear are excluded
fromcoverage.
Batteries.Only batteries whose fully charged capacity falls below
80%of their rated capacity and batteries that leak are covered by
thislimited warranty.
Abuse& Misuse. Defectsor damage that result from: (a) improper
operation,storage,misuse or abuse, accident or neglect,such as
physicaldamage (cracks,scratches, etc.) to the surfaceof the
productresultingfrom misuse; (b) contact with liquid,water, rain,
extremehumidity orheavy perspiration, sand, dirt or thelike, extreme
heat,or food; (c) use ofthe Products or Accessories for commercial
purposesor subjectingthe Product or Accessory to abnormalusage
orconditions; or (d)other acts which are not the fault of Motorolaor
GiantInternationalLtd., are excluded from coverage.
Useof Non-Motorola branded Products and Accessories. Defects
ordamage that result from the use of Non-Motorola branded or
certifiedProducts, Accessories, Software or other peripheral
equipmentare excluded from coverage.
UnauthorizedService or Modification. Defects or damages
resultingfrom service, testing, adjustment, installation,
maintenance,alteration, or modification in any way by someone
otherthan Motorola, Giant International Ltd. or its authorized
servicecenters, are excluded from coverage.
AlteredProducts. Products or Accessories with (a) serial numbers
ordate tags that have been removed, altered or obliterated; (b)
brokenseals or that show evidence of tampering; (c) mismatched
boardserial numbers; or (d) nonconforming or non-Motorola
brandedhousings, or parts, are excluded from coverage.
CommunicationServices. Defects, damages, or the failure of
Productsor Accessories due to any communication service or
signalyou may subscribe to or use with the Products or
Accessoriesis excluded from coverage.

WhatDoes this Warranty Cover?
Subjectto the exclusions contained to the right, Giant International
Ltd.warrants the Motorola branded consumer two-way radios that
operatevia Family Radio Service or General Mobile Radio Service
thatit manufactures (“Products”), the Motorola branded or certified
accessoriessold for use with these Products that it manufactures
(“Accessories”)to be free from defects in materials and
workmanshipunder normal consumer usage for the period(s)
outlinedbelow. This limited warranty is a consumer’s exclusive
remedy,and applies as follows to new Motorola branded Products
andAccessories manufactured by Giant International Ltd., and
purchasedby consumers in the United States or Canada, which are
accompaniedby this written warranty:

GIANTINTERNATIONAL LTD., at its option, will at no charge repair,

ScanningChannels
Usescanning to monitor channels for transmissions or to find someone
inyour group who has accidentally changed channels.
1. Briefly press MENU until the appears.The current setting
On/Offwill flash.
2. Press either +orto turn On or Off.
3. Press toconfirm or MENU to continue set up.
Whenthe radio detects channel activity, it stops scanning and you can
hearthe transmission. To respond, press withinfive seconds.
AdvancedScan
Ifthe radio stops on an undesired transmission, you may immediately
resumethe scan by briefly pressing +or.
UseWith Accessories
Youcan transmit more reliably with the use of optional PTT headset
accessories.A PTT headset allows the radio to remain on the belt clip
whiletalking, and can provide privacy to others around you while
listening.
Manyaccessories (sold separately) are available for your radio. For

1.Turn the radio off and plug the PTT accessory into the accessory
jack.
2.Turn the radio on. Youmay now press the PTT on the accessory
microphoneinstead of the radio.
3.Adjust the volume appropriately by pressing - . Lower the volume
beforeplacing the accessory on your head or in your ear.
Note:The FV300 does not have VOX capabilities, and is only compatible
withPTT headset accessories.

KeypadLock
Toavoid accidentally changing your radio settings you can lock your
keypad:
1. Short press MENU until the appears.Thecurrent setting
On/Offwill flash.
2. Push the +ortoturnOn or Off.
3. The willbe displayed on your screen.
Whenin lock mode, you cannot adjust the volume but all other
functionswork as usual.
Tounlock the radio press and hold MENU for a few seconds.
