Accessing the Backlight
Your radio has a Backlight that turns On automatically any time you press a front button (except

). The Backlight turns Off automatically five seconds after you last pressed a front button.
Lock
•To avoid accidentally changing radio operation, press 
for three seconds. Now you will see

•The Lock Feature locks

When the keypad is locked you can still adjust the volume, transmit

Monitor
allows you to listen to all activity on a Channel to tell whether the Channel is currently in use. 
can also help you determine when a radio is moving out of range.
