Safety recommendations

-Before using your appliance for the first time please read these instructions carefully: any use which does not conform to these instructions will ab- solve Moulinex from any liability.

-Never leave the appliance within reach of children without supervision. The use of this appliance by young children or by disabled people must always be supervised.

-Do not allow the power cable to hang down within reach of children.

-Check that the power rating of your appliance does in fact match that of your household electrical wiring system.

-It is essential that this appliance is connected to an earthed socket.

-If you use an extension, make sure it is a bipolar 10/16A type and has an earth

conductor.

Any connection error will render the guarantee null and void.

-Your appliance is intended only for domestic, indoor use.

-Ensure that the kettle has been switched off, either automatically or manually, before lif- ting it from its base.

-Remove the kettle from its base for filling or cleaning and after each use.

-Do not use your appliance if it is not working correctly or if it has been damaged. If this happens, you should contact an approved Moulinex service centre (see list in the booklet «Moulinex Service»). Never dismantle the kettle for any reason whatsoever.

-Do not use the kettle if the power cable or the plug are damaged. To avoid any risk, these must be replaced by an approved Moulinex service centre (see list in the booklet «Moulinex Service»).

-Any intervention other than cleaning and normal maintenance by the customer must be performed by an approved Moulinex ser- vice centre.

-Do not put the appliance, the power cable or the plug in water or in any other liquid.

-Keep the kettle and its power cable well away from any source of heat, any wet or slippery surface, and sharp edges.

-Never move the kettle when it is switched on.

-Do not use the kettle when you have wet hands or bare feet.

-Only use your kettle to heat drinking water.

-Never insert any utensil of any kind into your kettle.

-Warning: the appliance becomes hot during use.

-Be careful if you move around with the kettle when it contains hot water.

-Keep your hands well away from the pouring spout when the water comes to boiling point and avoid any contact with the hot surfaces of the appliance.

-Never use the kettle without locking its lid.

-The power base must only be used with this model of kettle.

-Do not expose the appliance to atmospheric elements (rain, sun, etc.).

-Warning: if the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.

-Tilt and pour slowly to prevent any risk of scalding by hot water.

Using your appliance for the first time

-Before first use, rinse the interior of your kettle and boil 1 or 2 lots of water.

-Place the base of your kettle on a stable surface and plug it in.

-Remove the kettle from its base and fill it via

1the pouring spout (E) or via the open lid by pressing the lid opening control (D) and lif-

2ting the rear section.

-Keep the water level within the Maximum

(1.7 l) and Minimum (0.3 l) markings on

1the indicator (H).

-Check that the lid is firmly closed to prevent any spilling, escape of steam or faulty operation. Automatic locking is indicated by
