The COOLPIX L1 features 15 specially progra mmed modes to automatically handle focus, exposure, white ba lance and other adjust-
ments that help you take great pictures at the press of a button. A great new func tion to be used in the Portrait Mode is Face Priority AF which
automatically fi nds the subject’s face and focuses on it. 4 of the 15 scene modes come with Scene Assist which offer a selecti on of easy framing
assist options to help you compose your pictures with the assis tance of framing guides displayed in the monitor. Here is how it works :

Versatile 15 Scene Modes

Useful automatic features do all the thinking for you
Panorama Assist Allows you to take several sid e-by-side image s, all at the same
exposure and white balance setti ng, then combine them lat er using the “Panorama
MakerTM” photo editing software (supplied) to cre ate spectacular wi de-vista photos.
Sunset Exposure is automatically controlled, enabling you
to preserve the exquisite, natural be auty of a sunset.
Beach/Snow When shooting a scene with snow or
water in the background, the image is free of gr ayish
tones that are caused by typical und erexposure.
Close Up Shoot as close as 1.6” from your subject.
Landscape Emphasizing depth-of-fi eld, this mode
captures distant scenes sharply an d clearly, for postcard
like landscape pictures.
Portrait Automatically adjusts the came ra setttings to
get a sharp subject with a blurred bac kground.
Face Priority AF All New Face Prio rity AF (in Portra it Scene) mode will aut omatically
fi nd the subject’s face and focus on that. This ensures a great port rait every time.
