GPS data are only recorded when the kicon is displayed; confirm that the kicon is displayed before shooting (a flashing kicon indicates that the GPS device is searching for a signal; pictures taken while the kicon is flashing will not include GPS data). If no data are received from the GPS unit for two seconds, the kicon will clear from the display and the camera will stop recording GPS information.

Keep the GPS device pointing in the same direction as the lens and at least 20cm (8 in.) from the camera.
