MODEL SPS-6Speaker Selection System (continued)

APPLICATIONNOTES

Connections

If your amplifier or receiver has "A" and "B" speaker pair outputs, connect the SPS-6 to the "A" points. Do not con- nect anything to "B". This will prevent the amplifier or receiver from driving an unusually low impedance load.

Using the SPS-6 with Tube Type Amplifiers

Virtually all tube amplifiers must have a load connected at all times. If the amplifier to be connected to the SPS-6 is a tube amplifier, be sure to always have at least one pair of speakers switched on at all times. An alternative is to per- manently connect a 150 ohm, 5 watt resistor across the tube amplifier's output in parallel with the SPS-6.

Impedance Matching

You will need to activate the SPS-6's PROTECTION button whenever the overall system impedance might fall below 4 ohms.

SPS-6 specifications

Niles Audio has long been a prominent name in the realm of high-quality audio solutions, and their SPS-6 speakers exemplify this reputation through their innovative technology and premium design. The SPS-6, part of Niles' wide array of home audio products, is specifically engineered to deliver outstanding performance in a variety of settings, making it a versatile choice for audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

One of the standout features of the Niles SPS-6 is its exceptional sound quality. The speaker is equipped with a 6.5-inch polypropylene woofer and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter, which work in tandem to produce a well-balanced audio profile. This design allows the SPS-6 to reproduce deep bass and crisp highs, ensuring an immersive listening experience across different genres of music and audio content.

The SPS-6 also utilizes advanced technology in its construction. The speaker features Niles' proprietary "Dual Voice Coil" technology, which allows for enhanced sound imaging and greater stability in sound dispersion. This results in a more cohesive and realistic audio experience, whether in a home theater setup or as part of a multi-room audio system. Additionally, its built-in crossover network ensures that sound frequencies are directed appropriately to the woofer and tweeter, optimizing overall performance.

Another key characteristic of the SPS-6 is its aesthetic design. The speaker is available in a sleek white finish that can seamlessly blend into various interior decors. Its low-profile design and paintable grille make it an ideal choice for installations where visual appeal is a priority. The SPS-6 can be easily installed in walls or ceilings, providing flexibility for audio placement without sacrificing style.

For durability and reliability, the SPS-6 is engineered with weather-resistant materials, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. This means homeowners can enjoy high-fidelity sound on their patios, decks, or any exterior spaces without worrying about the elements affecting performance.

Furthermore, the Niles Audio SPS-6 is designed with efficiency in mind. Its impedance rating ensures compatibility with various amplifiers and receivers, allowing users to integrate this speaker into existing audio systems with ease.

In conclusion, the Niles Audio SPS-6 speaker combines exceptional sound quality, innovative technology, and aesthetic appeal, making it a top choice for anyone looking to elevate their audio experience. Whether used in a home theater, a whole-house audio system, or in outdoor settings, the SPS-6 stands out as an embodiment of Niles' commitment to delivering superior audio performance.
