Text conventions

This chapter describes the text conventions used in the Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 2500 Series documentation.

Angle brackets

Indicates that you choose the text to enter based on the description inside the brackets. Do not type the brackets when entering the command.

Example: If the command syntax isping <ip_address>, you enter ping

192.32.10.12

Bold or Bold Courier text

Bold or Bold Courier text indicates command names, options, and text that you must enter.

Example: Use the info command.

Example: Enter show ip {alertsroutes}.
