Information quality

The Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 customer documentation uses three designations to indicate the quality verification level for the information. Each designation indicates the quality testing level that the documentation passed.

The quality designation also indicates how the documentation is released.

The three quality designations are as follows:

•Draft: Draft quality of the document is verified by development. Draft information is consistent with the design intent of the service or feature. Sometimes, Draft documentation is released to customers for early trials and demos.

•Preliminary: Preliminary quality of the document is verified by the product support and product verification organizations. Procedural information passes testing on hardware and software. Preliminary information is released to customers for trials and demos.

•Standard: Standard quality of the document is verified by product line management. All information is consistent with market positioning and support. Standard information is generally available and considered as the official documentation for the release.
