Category

The specific category that an technical document falls under is defined as follows:

Basics — Includes library navigation, system overview, and new release information documents.

Planning and Engineering — Includes tasks specific to planning, designing, and engineering the network (including the hardware and software); the network management system and internetworking products such as determining the right technology for the network; accessing the network performance requirements and understanding hardware and software migration impacts; scheduling and ordering; sales application engineering; implementation planning; and traffic/capacity engineering. It also includes card and cabling descriptions.

Installation and Commissioning — Includes tasks performed during initial hardware and software installation; initial configuration; testing/commissioning of installation, acceptance, and signoff.

System Administration and Security — Includes general system administration and security tasks such as creating user accounts and defining and optimizing system security. Includes Optivity Telephony Manager and Element Manager documents.
