Using the ﬂash

The ﬂash functions can be selected to best match the shooting conditions.1 Lift the ﬂash knob to ﬂip up the built-in ﬂash.

Flash knob

The ﬂash settings cannot be adjusted with the ﬂash closed.

	FLASH AUTO	The ﬂash ﬁres automatically in

Shooting closeups (Macro shooting)

This function enables the camera to focus and shoot subjects at close distances.

1 Select the macro option in the shooting function menu.

To turn off the ﬂash

Press the ﬂash down back into the camera. This sets to $(FLASH OFF) mode.

2 Select the ﬂash option in the shooting function menu.

This enables shooting as close as

SUPER MACRO*3 This enables shooting as close as 1 cm/0.4 in. to the subject.

The ﬂash (p. 25) and zoom (p. 15) cannot be set when [aSUPER MACRO] is selected.
