Operating Instructions

Power Sources

Dry cell batteries

Use the two R6/LR6(UM-3) batteries.

When the batteries are weak, the [電池残量] lamps will turn off one by one.

AC adaptor

Connect the Panasonic AC adaptor(RP-AC31B, not included) to [外部電源

DC IN 3VK].

Tape playback

1.Set [テープ、切、FM、AM] to [テープ].

2.Insert the tape. (You can use normal position type tapes only.)

3Set [2 倍録音] to [2 倍] or [標準].

Use the same setting you used when the recording was made.

4.Set [一時停止] to Off position.

5.Press [1 再生] to start playback.

6.Adjust the volume with [音量].

Listening to the radio

1.Set to [FM] or [AM] to select the band.

2.Dial [選局] to tune a station.

3.Adjust volume with [音量].

To stop radio

Set [テープ、切、FM、AM] to [切].

Adjusting the antennas

AM: The AM antenna is built-in so, try various directions for optimum reception.

FM: As the cord of the earphones acts as an antenna, use it extended, not coiled, or pull out the telescopic antenna and adjust its length and angle for optimum reception.

To receive FM stereo broadcast clearly

To receive FM stereo broadcasts, set [FM モード/B.P.] to [ステレオ/I].

If reception is poor(excessive noise), set to [モノラル/II]. This will reduce noise but sound becomes monaural.

To make recordings

1.Set [テープ、切、FM、AM] to [テープ].

2.Insert the tape. (You can use normal position type tapes only.)

3.Set [2 倍録音] to [標準] or [2 倍].

標準 ： To record sound at a normal speed

2 倍 ： To record about twice the length of the tape

4.Set [一時停止] to Off position.

5.Press [●録音].

[1 再生] is also pressed with [●録音].

To record the radio

Tune the station then do step 2 – 5.

≥If there is too much interference during AM recording set [FM モード /B.P.] to [ステレオ/I] or [モノラル/II] whichever yields less noise.

Auto stop

During playback or recording, when the tape reaches its end, the automatic stop system will release [1 再生] or [¥ 録音] and automatically turn off the unit.

To stop playback/recording

Press [ª 停止].

To stop playback/recording temporarily

Set [一時停止] to On position.

To listen with speakers

Set [!、Ë、Ë 重低音 XBS] to [!].

To listen with earphones

Connect stereo earphones (included) to [Ë].

To listen with emphasized bass

Set [!、Ë、Ë 重低音 XBS] to [Ë 重低音 XBS].

To fast forward or rewind

Press [6 巻戻し／レビュー] (rewind) or [5 早送り／キュー] (fast forward) in the stop mode.

To cue and review

Sound can be monitored at a high speed as long as [6 巻戻し／ レビュー] (review) or [5 早送り／キュー] (cue) is held down during playback.When the button is released, normal playback will start.

Follow up recording

Recording can be started during playback by simply pressing [¥ 録音].

Quick review

The review operation is possible during recording by pressing [6巻戻し／レビュー], only the [¥録音] will be released, and playback begin.

To record through an external microphone

Plug the external microphone (included) into [ステレオマイク（プラグ インパワー）].

≥You can use a condenser microphone with or without built-in power supply.
