Arecont Vision IP Cameras Supported on Digital Sentry

Integral Digital Sentry® digital video management systems (DVMS) support certain
Arecont Vision IP camera models. The camera models listed in this document can be
used with Digital Sentry IP camera driver version 6.8.0.126 and later. Refer to each
camera’s table for information about the hardware and software features validated for
use on a Digital Sentry system. Any general limitations or special instructions are listed
at the beginning of the document, and any model-specific information is listed after each
table. For information about the general usage of each camera, refer to the camera
manufacturer’s documentation.
To obtain the latest IP camera driver or documentation for use with Digital Sentry, refer
to the Pelco Web site at

General Arecont Vision IP Camera Notes

Frame rates are rounded down to the next valid value listed in the tables. For
example, if the requested frame rate is 7.5 frames per second (fps), the camera
provides 7 fps.
The frame rate requested might not match specifications in the camera
manufacturer’s documentation.
Camera resolutions configured in DSAdmin must match resolutions supported in this
document.
Always stop the Digital Sentry VideoServer service before running the Arecont Vision
AV Manager application. After AV Manager configuration is complete, change the AV
Manager server startup type to Disabled (LMSrv), and then restart the VideoServer
service.
Digital Sentry cannot function properly while any Arecont Vision application is active
on the same system. Check the system tray to verify that Arecont Vision applications
are not active.
Using Integral motion detection decreases Digital Sentry performance because of
increased CPU usage, especially at higher resolutions. It is recommended that
In-Camera motion detection be used at higher resolutions.
Frame rates could be reduced as resolution and quality settings are increased.
Arecont Vision cameras cannot be dual-homed. That is, they cannot be streamed to
two Digital Sentry systems or applications simultaneously.
To provide a stable camera environment, make sure local or Power over Ethernet
(PoE) power meets or exceeds the requirement of the camera used.
