1 Press the b button in Capture mode.

The flash mode changes each time the button is pressed and the icon appears on the LCD monitor.

The camera is ready to take pictures in the selected flash mode.

Selecting Rear-Curtain Flash

Rear-curtain flash can be set when the flash mode is set to Auto or the flash mode is set to b (Flash On). A normal front-curtain flash discharges right after the camera shutter opens, but a rear-curtain flash discharges right before the shutter closes. When using a rear-curtain flash with a slow shutter speed, you can capture a light trail from a

4 moving subject.

Press the { button in the Auto or b mode.

The Fn guide screen appears.

Press the b button.

The Flash mode screen appears.

Use the four-way controller (45)

to select [F. Curtain (normal)] and Flash Sync R. Curtain [R. Curtain].

Press the 4 button.

OK OK

 

The camera is ready to take pictures.

Rear-curtain flash cannot be set when the red-eye reduction function is activated.
