You are recommended to use an AC adapter connected to a power outlet when connecting the camera to a computer. If the battery runs out of power while images are being transmitted to the computer, the image data may be lost or damaged.
When using an AC adapter, make sure that the AC adapter is properly connected to the camera.

System Requirements
Windows System Requirements
•USB connection and the included application software are not supported in Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows Me, and Windows NT.
•In order to play movies recorded using Optio A40 on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista, you are required to install Windows Media Player 9.0 or later and the DivX codec (CPU: Pentium 4 with 2.0 GHz or higher, or Pentium M with 1.0 GHz or higher recommended.).

If your camera’s USB mode was set to “PictBridge” when you connected via USB to the PC, you must disconnect the camera from the computer and set the camera’s USB mode to “PC” before reconnecting the camera to the computer.
