Turning the Camera On in Playback Only Mode

Use this mode when you want to play back several pictures or sound files. Still pictures, movies and sound files stored in the camera’s built-in memory or on the SD Memory Card are played back without extending the lens.

In Playback Only mode, pressing the shutter release button does not change the mode to Capture mode.

1 Press the A, C or O button while pressing the Q button.

The camera turns on, but the lens does not extend. The Playback screen appears.

• You cannot take still pictures or movies, or record sound in Voice Recording mode when the camera is turned on in Playback Only mode.

•You cannot switch from Playback Only mode to another mode by pressing the A, C or O button. To switch to another mode, turn the camera off and then turn it on again by pressing the button for the mode that you want to use.

•When you press the Q button for more than two seconds in Capture mode, the camera switches to Playback mode and the lens is retracted. Unlike Playback Only mode, you can switch to Capture mode or Voice Recording mode by pressing the Q button or shutter release button again, or by pressing the A, C or O button.
