RS500i

Open-Ceiling Speaker

Technical Information for System Engineers

Applications

Designed for indoor & outdoor back- ground to mid-level SPL applications, the RS500i includes a single-point mounting system for rapid open-ceiling installations. The 100° broad dispersion pattern (55 Hz – 10 kHz) and high sensi- tivity (88.5 dB 1W/1M) make the RS500i speaker ideal for music & paging appli- cations in retail, grocery stores, restau- rants, hotels, casinos, museums, trade shows & conference rooms. For applica- tions where additional bass is required, SoundTube’s RS801i 8” subwoofer pro- vides bass down to 40 Hz.

BroadBeam® Wide

Dispersion Technology

More than 3 years in development, SoundTube’s proprietary BroadBeam® technology incorporates a high-fre- quency waveguide mated to a 1” convex aluminum tweeter. The BroadBeam® high-frequency waveguide delivers a consistent 100° dispersion pattern across the upper registers of the frequency spectrum (up to 10 kHz, EASEdocu- mented). The result is an audio system with fewer speakers, reduced power

needs, shorter installation time and cost savings on shipping & labor.

Patented SoundTube

Technologies

SoundTube Entertainment is constantly developing new technologies that enhance audio product performance. SoundTube Entertainment innovations are protected by multiple U.S. & international patents, which explicitly cover SoundTube dispersion, enclosure & dome technolo- gies. SoundTube Entertainment actively defends its patents in order to protect SoundTube resellers and end users.

Technical Data

SoundTube Entertainment strives to provide complete and effective techni- cal information and data to dealers, engineers and designers. All data are available from SoundTube Entertain- ment or at www.soundtube.com.

Data Acquisition

All performance data acquired at SoundTube’s Technical Measurement Center (TMC) are analyzed using a vari-

ety of standard measurement techniques, including Measured Length Sequence (MLS) and Time Delay Spectrometry (TDS). Performance, development and data acquisition tools include: Gold Line TEF 20, CLIO, LMS, LEAP, and propri- etary modeling software. EASEdata are acquired through an automated TEF20/ Outline/EASEinterface.

RS500i specifications

The Phase Technology RS500i is a remarkable addition to the realm of high-performance loudspeakers, designed to deliver exceptional sound quality in a stylish and adaptable package. Renowned for its sophisticated engineering and innovative features, the RS500i is a prime choice for audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

One of the standout characteristics of the RS500i is its advanced driver technology. The speaker employs a 6.5-inch injection-molded polypropylene woofer that ensures powerful and controlled bass response. This is complemented by a proprietary 1-inch soft dome tweeter, providing crystal-clear high frequencies and ensuring that every note is reproduced with precision and detail. This combination allows the RS500i to create a well-balanced soundstage that enhances both music and movie experiences.

The RS500i also boasts the inclusion of Phase Technology's patented SDR (Spatial Dispersion Radiation) technology. This innovative design feature promotes a more uniform sound dispersion, allowing listeners to enjoy consistent sound quality regardless of their position in the room. SDR technology minimizes the impact of room acoustics, leading to a more enjoyable listening experience without the need for extensive room treatments.

In terms of construction, the RS500i is built to stand the test of time. The cabinet is crafted from high-quality MDF, reducing unwanted vibrations and resonance, which can muddy the sound. Its elegant aesthetics are defined by a sleek finish that seamlessly blends into any home décor, making the speakers not just a piece of audio equipment, but a stylish addition to your living space.

Versatility is another cornerstone of the RS500i's design. It is suitable for a variety of configurations, whether as part of a larger home theater setup or as standalone speakers for a two-channel listening experience. With an impedance of 8 ohms and a power handling capacity of 100 watts, the RS500i integrates easily with a wide range of amplifiers and receivers.

Furthermore, setup and connectivity are simplified with the inclusion of robust binding posts that accommodate various types of speaker cables, ensuring a secure and reliable connection. Whether you're a music lover looking to enhance your listening environment or a cinema aficionado in pursuit of immersive sound, the Phase Technology RS500i delivers an impressive audio experience with its blend of advanced technology, superior design, and versatility.
