Technical Data

SoundTube Entertainment strives to provide complete and effective technical information and data to dealers, engineers and designers. All data are available from SoundTube Entertainment or at www.soundtube.com.

Technical data and downloads include:

EASE™ data – 3D polar plots.

SoundTubeSPEC™ – Proprietary SoundTube speaker placement software.

Tech Sheets – Technical information and architectural specs for system engineers.

Data Acquisition

All performance data acquired at SoundTube’s Technical Measurement Cen- ter (TMC) are analyzed using standardized measurement techniques, including Mea- sured Length Sequence (MLS) and Time Delay Spectrometry (TDS). Performance, development, and data acquisition tools include: Gold Line TEF 20 Suite, CLIO, LMS, LEAP, and proprietary modeling software.

Data for Other SoundTube Products

Also available: Sales & installation information for all SoundTube speaker systems, including open-ceiling, in-ceil- ing, surface-mount, in-ground and sound- focusing speakers.

Architectural Specifications

The loudspeaker shall consist of a 130

mm(5.25 in) low-frequency transducer and a 25 mm (1.0 in) high-frequency trans- ducer with a frequency-dividing network installed in an infinite baffle sealed enclo- sure (Bessel alignment). The low-frequency voice coil diameter shall be 25 mm (1.0 in).

Performance specifications of a typical production unit shall be as follows: Usable frequency response shall extend from

65 Hz – 20 kHz. The loudspeaker shall be available in separate low-impedance and high-impedance models. The RS55i-T32 unit shall be equipped with a transformer for use in either 70.7 Volt or 100 Volt distrib- uted-line sound systems with taps select- able via a rotary switch. Taps shall be nominally 4 W @ 70.7 V (8 W @ 100 V), 8 W @ 70.7 V (16 W @ 100 V), 16 W @ 70.7 V (32 W @ 100 V), 32 W @ 70.7 V (tap position not used @ 100 V). The frequency-dividing network shall have a crossover frequency of 3.1 kHz. Rated power capacity of the
