Espressa in Hz, rappresenta il numero di campi scritti sullo schermo al secondo in modalità interlacciata. In modalità non interlacciata, la frequenza di scansione verticale rappresenta il numero di quadri (immagini complete) scritte sullo schermo ogni secondo (nota anche come velocità di aggiornamento).

Treno di onde di forma quadra che definiscono l’inizio di un nuovo fotogramma.
