THEPOSSIBILITY OF AN INNER ARC-TUBE RUPTURE.
2)RELAMP FIXTURESAT OR BEFORETHE END OF RATEDLIFE.Allowing
lampsto operate until theyfail is not advised and mayincrease the possibility
ofinner arc tube rupture.
3)Use only in an enclosedfixture capable of withstandingparticles of glasshaving
temperaturesup to 1000ºC.
4)Before lamp installation/replacement,shutpower offand allow lamp and fixture
tocool to avoid electricalshock and potentialburn hazards.
5)Use only auxiliary equipmentmeeting Philips and/orANSI standards.Use within
voltagelimits recommendedby ballast manufacturer.
A.Operate lamponly within specified limitsof operation.
B.For total supplyload refer to ballastmanufacturers electricaldata.
C.All Pulse Start mogulbased lamps requirea socket rated to withstand
a4000 volt pulse.
6)Periodically inspectthe outer envelope.Replace any lampsthat show scratches,
cracksor damage.
7)If a lamp bulb support is used,be sure to insulatethe support electricallyto
avoidpossible decompositionof the bulb glass.
8)Protect lamp base,socket and wiringagainst moisture,corrosive atmospheres
andexcessive heat.
9)Time should be allowedfor lamps to stabilize incolor when turned on for the
firsttime. This may requireseveral hours of operation, with morethan one start.
Lampcolor is also subjectto change under conditionsof excess vibration or
shock, and colorappearance may vary betweenindividual lamps.
10)Lamps may require2 to 4 minutes to re-lightif there is a power interruption.
11)Take carein handling and disposingof lamps. If anarc tube is broken, avoid skin
contactwith any of the contentsor fragments.

Pulse Start Metal Halide 400Watt Lamp (Clear)

1)Approximate lumen values listed are for horizontal operation of the lamp.
2)Measured at 100 hours of life in horizontal position.
3)Measured at rated lamps on a linear reactor. LPW does not include ballast losses.
4)Approximate lumen output at 40%oflamp ratedaveragelife .
5)Rated average life is the life obtained, on the average, from lar ge representativegroups of lamps in labor atory tests under controlled conditions at 10 or more operating hours per start.
Itis based on survival of at least 50% of the lamps and allows for individual lamps or groups of lamps to vary consider ablyfrom the average .
6)Measured with the lamp operation at rated watts.
