onthe outer glass bulb.Do not scratch the outerbulb or
subjectit to pressureas this could cause the outerbulb to
crackor shatter.A partial vacuum in theouter bulb may
causeglass to fly if the glassis struck. Operatingthe lamp
improperlymay resultin PERSONAL INJURY,
PROPERTYDAMAGE,BURNSAND FIRE.
1.If the outer glassbulb is broken,shut off power immediately
andremove the lamp afterit has cooled.
2.Use only auxiliaryequipment meeting Philipsand/or ANSI
standards.Usewithin voltage limitsrecommended by ballast
manufacturer.
A.Operate lamp onlywithin specified limitsof operation.
B.For total supplyload refer to ballast manufacturers
electricaldata.
3.Protect lampbase, socket and wiringagainst moisture,
corrosiveatmospheresand excessive heat.
4.Replace thelamp if the outer glass bulbhas been scratched,
crackedor damaged in anyway.
5.If a lamp bulbsupport is used, be sure to insulatethe sup-
portelectrically so as to avoidpossible decompositionof
thebulb glass.
6.Do not use this lamp in a fixture which redirects a
substantialportion of the energy toward the arc tube
andits immediate vicinity,as this may lead to very
earlylamp failure.
7.Takecare in handling and disposingof lamps.If arc tube
isbroken, avoidskin contact with anyof the contents
orfragments.
8.The arc tube ofthis lamp contains sodiumand
mercury.Disposeof in accordance withfederal,
stateand local requirements.
