Hearing safetyListen at a moderate volum e.
Using headphones at a hig h volume can impair you r hearing. This •
product can produ ce sounds in decibel r anges that may cause hea ring
loss for a normal person, even for exposure less than a minute. The
higher decibel range s are offered for tho se that may have already
experienced some hearing loss.
Sound can be deceiving. O ver time your heari ng ‘comfort level’ •
adapts to higher volume s of sound. So after pr olonged listenin g, what
sounds ‘normal’ can a ctually be loud and h armful to your hear ing. To
guard against this , set your volume to a safe le vel before your heari ng
adapts and leave it ther e.
To establish a safe volume level:
Set your volume control at a l ow setting. •
Slowly increase the s ound until you can hear i t comfortably a nd •
clearly, without distortion.
Listen for reasonable pe riods of time:
Prolonged exposure t o sound, even at norm ally ‘safe’ levels, ca n also •
cause hearing loss.
Be sure to use your equipm ent reasonably a nd take appropr iate •
breaks.
Be sure to observe the follow ing guidelines when us ing your
headphones.
Listen at reasonab le volumes for reaso nable periods of tim e.•
Be careful not to adjus t the volume as your hea ring adapts.•
Do not turn up the volume s o high that you can’t hea r what’s around •
you.
You should use caution or temp orarily discont inue use in potentia lly •
hazardous situa tions. Do not use headp hones while oper ating a
motorized vehicle, cy cling, skateboar ding, etc.; it may cr eate a traffic
hazard and is illega l in many areas.
