Smart Window™ (PIP)
Used in conjunction with a second video source such as a VCR, DVD
Video player, or Web browser, picture-in-picture allows you to monitor
one TV channel while watching another, monitor videotape or videodisc
playback while playing a game, or monitor a TV channel while surfing the
Internet. You can swap the main and secondary pictures, or position the
PIP window in any screen corner. In all cases, the main picture is provid-
ed with its corresponding audio.
Dynamic Comb Filter
With up to 640 lines of horizontal resolution3, this set provides razor-sharp

Controls all features and functions of this monitor/receiver with direct
menu access, including Smart Window™ PIP with On/Off, Position,
Freeze, Swap, Source, and PIP CHANNEL ; Multimedia Mode,
Incredible Stereo™, Surf™, and the dual A/V input/tuner switch. It also
activates the exclusive SmartSound™, SmartClock™, and SmartPicture™
options. In addition, this remote controls all important operating features
and functions of virtually all infrared VCRs, most brands of DVD Video
players, virtually all brands of DBS receivers, and on/off as well as
CHANNEL functions on most cable converter/decoders.

Convenience

Multimedia Mode
Simply press the MULTIMEDIA button on the remote control and
sequentially scroll through the various inputs. The SmartPicture™ option
is automatically set to MULTIMEDIA for optimal adjustment of customer
controls. The third time the MULTIMEDIA button is pressed, the TV
returns to the original tuner source and all settings revert to their previ-
ous condition…automatically!
SmartSurf™
Eliminates the frustration of trying to remember what channels had
programs of interest while channel surfing. After establishing the
SmartSurf™ configuration with the user-friendly menu, store up to ten
stations in the SmartSurf™ memory and then surf only those channels at
the touch of a button. The versatility of this feature is enhanced by the
availability of an onscreen list of the channels stored and offers the
option of adding or deleting channels in the list by remote control.

SmartSound™
When activated, SmartSound™ keeps volume levels constant between
programs and commercials, and from one channel to another. SmartSound™
constantly monitors the audio signal, reducing a signal that’s too loud and
increasing a signal that’s too weak.
dbx®Hi-Fi Stereo Sound System
The stereo sound system built into this monitor/receiver incorporates an
MTS/SAP decoder which permits reception and reproduction of broadcast
stereo television programs, as well as Second Audio Program transmissions
(where available). dbx®noise reduction eliminates hiss and high-frequency
interference from stereo tape playback.

The A/V jack panel on the back of this set includes dual audio/video inputs
for connection of a VCR, DVD Video player, Web browser, or other accessory
