Starting procedure for iPhone users

1Connect an iPhone to the USB cable using an iPhone Dock Connector.

2Select Wired in APP CONNECT MODE. For details, refer to APP CONNECT MODE (APP connect mode setting) on page 30.

For DEH-X7500SD, skip to the next step.

3Switch the source to Apps.

Information for the smartphone compatibility

The following devices are compatible with this function.

!iPhone and iPod touch

In this chapter, iPod and iPhone will be re- ferred to as “iPhone”.

!Androidä device

For iPhone users

!Use a Pioneer USB cable to connect an iPhone.

!Song information may not display correctly for iOS versions earlier than 5.0.

For Android device users

!The device supports Bluetooth SPP (Serial Port Profile) and A2DP (Advanced Audio

Distribution Profile).

The device is connected to this unit via Bluetooth.

Compatibility with all Android devices is not guaranteed.

4Start up the application on the smart- phone and initiate playback.

Starting procedure for Android device users

Only for DEH-X8500DAB and DEH-X8500BT

1Connect your Android device to this unit using Bluetooth wireless technology. For details, refer to Connection menu op- eration on page 19.

2Select Bluetooth in

APP CONNECT MODE. For details, refer to APP CONNECT MODE (APP connect mode setting) on page 30.

3Switch the source to Apps.

4Start up the application on the smart- phone and initiate playback.
