WRT-410A

Super G Wireless Broadband Router

The WRT-410A is a broadband router integrated with an 802.11g Access Point. With the innovative Super G technology enhanced, the maximum data rate of WRT-410A is 108Mbps when working with Super G supported wireless stations. The WRT-410A is also backward compatible and interoperable with IEEE 802.11b compliant wireless devices.

The WRT-410A supports the most advanced security features available today: WPA and WPA2. WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) authorizes and identifies users based on a secret key that changes automatically at a regular interval. WPA uses TKIP and WPA2 uses AES to change the temporal key periodically. This insures much greater security than the standard WEP security. (By contrast, the older WEP encryption required the keys to be changed manually.)

For home users that will not incorporate a RADIUS server in their network, the security for the WRT-410A will still be much stronger than ever before. Utilizing the PSK (Pre Shared Key) mode of WPA, the WRT-410A will obtain a new security key every time, and it connects to the 802.11g network.

You only need to enter your encryption information once in the configuration menu. Then you will automatically receive a new key every time you connect, thus highly increasing the safety of your communications.

With the built-in AP on the LAN side, all wireless clients can share the same broadband Internet connection and access other Ethernet devices on the LAN through the router's built-in 4-Port switch. Virtual server, DMZ and natural firewall functions provide additional security and flexibility for both wireless and wired LAN users.

Key Feature

Internet Access Features

¥Shared Internet Access. All users in the LAN can access the Internet through WRT-410A, using only a single external IP Address. The local IP Addresses are hidden from external sources. This process is called NAT (Network Address Translation).

¥DSL & Cable Modem Support. The WRT-410A has a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port for connecting a DSL or Cable Modem. All popular DSL and Cable Modems are supported.

¥PPPoE, PPTP, and L2TP Supported. The Internet (WAN port) connection supports PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet), PPTP (Peer-to-Peer Tunneling Protocol), L2TP (Layer 2 Tunnel Protocol), as well as "Direct Connection" type services.

¥Fixed or Dynamic IP Address. On the Internet (WAN port) connection, WRT-410A supports both Dynamic IP Address (IP Address is allocated on connection) and Fixed IP Address.

Advanced Internet Functions

¥Special Internet Applications. Applications which use non-standard connections or port numbers are normally blocked by the Firewall. The ability to define and allow such applications is provided, to enable such applications to be used normally.

¥Virtual Servers. This feature allows Internet users to access Internet servers on your LAN. The required setup is quick and easy.

¥DMZ. One PC of your local LAN can be configured to allow unrestricted 2- way communication with Servers or individual users on the Internet. This provides the ability to run programs which are incompatible with Firewalls.

¥URL Blocking. Use the URL Blocking to block access to undesirable Web sites by LAN users.

¥Internet Access Log. See which Internet connections have been made.

¥VPN pass-through Support. VPN (Virtual Private Networking) connections using PPTP and IPSec are transparently supported - no configuration is required.

LAN Features

¥Five Ethernet ports. WRT-410A has 5 Ethernet ports. One (the WAN port) is connected to your DSL or Cable modem. The other 4 (the LAN ports) are used to connect to your local LAN.

¥DHCP Server Support. Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) provides a dynamic IP address to PCs and other devices upon request. WRT- 410A can act as a DHCP Server for devices on your local LAN and WLAN.

¥Multi Segment LAN Support. LANs containing one or more segments are supported; via WRT-410A's RIP (Routing Information Protocol) support and built-in static routing table.

Configuration & Management
¥Easy Setup. Use your WEB browser from anywhere on the LAN for configuration.

¥Remote Management. The WRT-410A can be managed from any PC on your LAN. And, if the Internet connection exists, it can also (optionally) be configured remotely via the Internet.

¥UPnP Support. UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) allows automatic discovery and configuration of WRT-410A. UPnP is by supported by Windows ME/ 2000/ XP/ Windows Server 2003 or later.

¥Firmware upgrade can be easily done in web browser.
Security Features

¥Password - protected Configuration. Optional password protection is provided to prevent unauthorized users from modifying the configuration data and settings.

¥NAT Protection. An intrinsic side effect of NAT (Network Address Translation) technology is that by allowing all LAN users to share a single IP address, the location and even the existence of each PC is hidden. From the external viewpoint, there is no network, only a single device - WRT-410A.

¥Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall. All incoming data packets are monitored and all incoming server requests are filtered, thus protecting your network from malicious attacks from external sources.
