be an RCA input and XLR input connected to one module at the same time, and the selector switch should correspond with the input that is in use.

3. OUTPUT TERMINALS

Connections for the loudspeakers are provided on each module panel. A pair of five way binding posts are fit ted – these provide ease of use with cables requiring a large

contact area. The Dual Amp modules have t wo pairs of binding posts, one for each of the t wo amplifier channels on the module itself.

4. MAINS POWER CORD IEC SOCKET

This connector is where the mains supply cable from your wall connects to the

amplifier. You will notice that a fuse holder is mounted within this connection, and it holds a mains fuse to provide surge and overload protection for your amplifier.

5. MAINS SWITCH

This heav y- dut y rocker switch in the cent re of the panel turns the Mains /Line Power

to the amplifier ON or OFF. An LED in the cent re of the front panel indicates that the

power is on. When first switched on the unit will go into standby and the LED will var y in brightness. The amplifier draws a moderately high current when switched on. Despite the “Sof t Star t Circuit ” within the amplifier reducing current demand on the mains as the amplifier is switched on, it is not good practice to rapidly turn the Mains switch on and of f repeatedly.

6. REMOTE TRIGGER TERMINALS

In order to integrate more ef fectively into a home theat re system, the Plinius Odeon

has remote t rigger terminals fit ted to the rear panel. By connecting a processor with a remote t rigger signal to these terminals, the Odeon can be put in and out of

standby by the processor to which it is connected. When in standby the amplifier

draws less current and will operate at minimum temperature. The output relays are

also open, disconnecting the loudspeakers. This may be of advantage in a multi- amplifier and/or remote installations. Polarit y of the connections to the remote t rigger is not impor tant.

7. LED BRIGHTNESS ADJUST

This small variable resistor can be adjusted from the rear panel, which will alter the brightness of all ex ternal blue LEDs at the same time.

8. GROUND LIFT SWITCH

This switch is located to the top right of the rear panel, and allows the signal ground

to be disconnected from the chassis. In some installations a hum loop may exist due

to duplicate ground paths from dif ferent equipment. Use this switch to remove the connection from 0V to ground thus allowing some flexibilit y in your par ticular set-up.

Odeon Power Amplifier specifications

The Plinius Audio Odeon Power Amplifier stands out as a remarkable piece of audio engineering in the world of high-fidelity sound reproduction. Designed in New Zealand, this amplifier embodies a commitment to musicality and precision, ensuring both audiophiles and casual listeners experience their favorite tracks with depth and clarity.

One of the main features of the Odeon amplifier is its robust build quality. Constructed from high-grade materials, it boasts an elegant and timeless design that not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also contributes to the overall performance of the amplifier. The chassis is designed to minimize resonance, which can interfere with the quality of sound reproduction. This attention to physical detail ensures that the Odeon delivers an immersive auditory experience.

In terms of power, the Odeon provides a substantial output, capable of driving a wide range of speakers effortlessly. With an output of up to 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms, it can handle both dynamic peaks in music and sustained bass notes without sacrificing fidelity. Its power supply is equally impressive, featuring large, low-impedance capacitors that deliver the necessary current for demanding musical passages.

The amplifier utilizes Class A and Class AB designs, combining the warmth of Class A operation with the efficiency and power of Class AB. This hybrid approach allows the Odeon to reproduce music with remarkable accuracy while maintaining the natural characteristics of the audio signal. The result is a rich sound stage filled with detail and nuance, making it particularly well-suited for complex musical compositions.

Another notable technology in the Odeon is its advanced circuit design, including a fully complementary differential input stage. This innovative design increases linearity and reduces distortion, resulting in a clearer and more transparent sound reproduction. The amplifier also features high-quality, custom-designed transformers that enhance the efficiency and dynamic range, ensuring that every note is delivered with precision.

User-friendliness is also a priority in the Odeon’s design. The rear panel includes comprehensive connectivity options, including balanced XLR inputs and unbalanced RCA inputs, making it compatible with a wide variety of audio sources. The amplifier's intuitive layout simplifies integration into existing audio setups.

Overall, the Plinius Audio Odeon Power Amplifier combines powerful performance, innovative technology, and elegant design, making it a worthy addition to any high-end audio system. Its ability to capture the essence of music while providing an engaging listening experience sets it apart in the competitive landscape of audio amplification.
