LED BRIGHTNESS CONTROL

Your Plinius SA-103 has an internal LED brightness control that will adjust all three front panel LED’s. A small flat bladed screwdriver can be used to adjust the brightness. The LED brightness control is a small multi turn potentiometer and is located on the front of the main circuit board within the top cavity of the amplifier, and is labelled VR3. Make sure you adjust the correct potentiometer, and remember to remove the mains supply from the amplifier before making any adjustments.

MAINS/LINE FUSE

A Mains/Line fuse is fitted within the IEC Mains/Line socket on the rear of the amplifier. A small drawer at the bottom of this socket may be removed (after the IEC plug is removed) by levering it out with a flat blade screwdriver. The fuse fitted should be rated as specified on the rear panel.

In the unusual event that this fuse should blow, you must first establish the cause of this failure (such as power surges, damaged mains cable etc.) before replacing the fuse with one of the same rating and type.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT FIT A FUSE WITH A HIGHER RATING.

SA-103 specifications

Plinius Audio SA-103 is an exceptional power amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking high-quality sound reproduction combined with robust performance. Renowned for its distinctive warm tone and ability to drive a wide range of speakers, the SA-103 stands out in the realm of high-fidelity audio equipment.

One of the primary features of the SA-103 is its impressive power output. Delivering 100 watts per channel into an 8-ohm load, and doubling that output into 4 ohms, this amplifier can effortlessly drive many speaker types, making it versatile enough for both dynamic home theater setups and demanding stereo listening environments. The amplifier’s dual mono design ensures that each channel operates independently, reducing crosstalk and providing a cleaner soundstage with greater separation between the left and right channels.

The SA-103 utilizes Plinius' unique “Class A biased” architecture, which enhances sound quality by delivering a warm, natural tone. This design minimizes distortion and provides high linearity throughout the amplifier's operating range. The added flexibility of a switchable gain setting allows users to adjust the output to suit their specific system requirements and room acoustics, ensuring optimal performance in various environments.

Another standout characteristic of the SA-103 is its robust construction. Built with high-grade components, including a heavy-duty transformer and custom-designed capacitors, the amplifier boasts durability and longevity. The premium build quality is not just for looks; it also contributes to reducing resonance and vibration, further enhancing audio clarity.

The input stage of the SA-103 features sophisticated circuitry that provides an incredibly low noise floor. This is particularly beneficial for critical listening sessions where high sensitivity is essential. Additionally, the amplifier is equipped with high-quality binding posts and XLR inputs, allowing for secure connections and compatibility with various audio sources.

Heat management is addressed efficiently in the SA-103, utilizing large heatsinks and a cooling architecture that ensures the unit operates smoothly even during extended use. Overall, Plinius Audio SA-103 represents not only an investment in high-performance audio gear but a commitment to delivering a pristine listening experience, characterized by depth, balance, and expressive detail. For anyone serious about audio quality, the SA-103 remains a compelling choice in the power amplifier landscape.
