Troubleshooting Guide

SYMPTOMS & CORRECTION

	No power	• Connect the power plug into the wall outlet securely.
		• Check if the child lock is released.
		• Check if the power plug is connected to an AC outlet.
	The player does not respond	• Check the batteries in the remote control.

		• Verify the connection from the video output of the player to the TV video input. Then switch TV to

		• Verify the video connection between your TV and the Combo Player. Make sure your TV channel is set to
C		channel 3 or AV INPUT. For more details, refer to your TV manual.
	Have sound but no picture	• Press I/P button on the Combo Player's remote control.
R
	No sound	• Connect the audio cables into the jacks securely.
		• Verify the connection from the DVD audio output to the TV or receiver audio input. Then switch to the
		appropriate source on the receiver. Refer to your audio amplifier owners manual.
	LED no playtime display	• Check if the player is in VCR mode or DVD mode.
		• Check if the player is in counter status. Press the COUNTER/CLOCK button to switch.
		• Make sure the timer recording is set correctly.
	Timer recording failure	• Make sure power is off.
		• Make sure the DVD/VCR is set correctly.
	Cannot go into Record mode.	• Make sure the tape has a safety tab. If needed, cover the hole with scotch tape.
	Playback picture is partially	• Adjust tracking control for a better picture by pressing the TRACKING +/- button.
	noisy
V	Cannot view a tape but the	• Head cleaning may be necessary.

R	No or poor playback picture	• Select channel 3 or 4 on your TV.
