Adjusting the exposure

compensation

If your photos are coming out too dark or too light, you can
use the EV compensation setting to adjust the amount of
light the lens allows into the camera. You may also want to
lighten or darken your photos to achieve special lighting
effects.
1Turn the camera on.
2Rotate the Mode knob to the RECORD setting.
3Press the Menu button.
The RECORD menu displays in the LCD.
4Rotate the Zoom control to highlight the EV
Compensate setting.
5Press the OK button.
The current setting displays (highlighted) in the LCD.
6Rotate the Zoom control left or right to increase
or decrease the setting. You can set the exposure
compensation from –1.5 (darker photos) to +1.5
(lighter photos).
7Press the OK button to save the setting and return to the
RECORD menu.
Note: Each time you turn the camera off and on again,
EV compensation resets to the default, +0.0.
