TO ADJUST SNOW THROWER HEIGHT

See “TO ADJUST SKID PLATES” and “SCRAPER BAR” in the Operation section of this manual.

CHUTE DEFLECTOR

The chute deflector, attached to the top of the discharge chute, is provided to direct discharging snow away from the operator. If the deflector becomes damaged, it should be replaced.

WARNING: To avoid serious injury, never operate your snow thrower with the deflector removed or damaged.

To change direction and/or distance snow is discharged, see “TO CONTROL SNOW DISCHARGE” in the Op- eration section of this manual.

SHEAR BOLTS (See Fig. 18)

AUGER SHEAR BOLTS

Both right and left-hand augers are secured to the auger shaft with a spacer, shear bolt and hex nut. Should a foreign object or ice become lodged in the augers, the shear bolts are designed to break, preventing damage to any other components. If one or both augers do not turn when auger control lever is engaged, check to see if one or both of the bolts have sheared. To replace the shear bolts:

1.Disengage all controls and move throttle control to STOP position. Wait for all moving parts to stop.

2.Remove safety ignition key and disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug. Place wire where it cannot come in contact with spark plug.

3.Align hole in auger hub with hole in auger shaft and install a new 1/4-20 x 2" shear bolt. Install 1/4-20 lock nut and tighten securely.

CAUTION: Do not substitute. Use only original equipment shear bolts as supplied with your snow thrower.

4.Insert safety ignition key and reconnect spark plug wire to spark plug.

IMPELLER SHEAR BOLTS

The impeller is secured to the impeller shaft with two (2) capscrew/shear bolts and hex nuts. Should a foreign object or ice become lodged in the impeller, the capscrews are designed to break, preventing damage to any other com- ponents. If impeller does not turn when auger control lever is engaged, check to see if the capscrews have sheared. To replace the capscrew/shear bolts:

1.Disengage all controls and move throttle control to STOP position. Wait for all moving parts to stop.

2.Remove safety ignition key and disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug. Place wire where it cannot come in contact with spark plug.

3.Align holes in impeller hub with holes in impeller shaft and install two (2) new 1/4-20 x 1-5/8" capscrew/shear bolts. Install 1/4-20 locknuts and tighten securely.

CAUTION: Do not substitute. Use only original equipment capscrew/shear bolts as supplied with your snow thrower.

4.Insert safety ignition key and reconnect spark plug wire to spark plug.

The Poulan PR624ES is a powerful and efficient snow blower designed to tackle the challenges of winter weather. Equipped with a 24-inch clearing width and a robust 6.5 horsepower engine, this machine is ideal for homeowners looking to clear medium to large driveways and sidewalks quickly and effectively.

One of the standout features of the PR624ES is its electric start technology. This convenient feature allows users to start the snow blower with the push of a button, eliminating the struggle of pulling a cord in cold weather. This is particularly beneficial during particularly chilly mornings when you want to get the job done efficiently without unnecessary hassle.

The snow blower features a heavy-duty, steel auger that cuts through snow and ice with exceptional precision. This durable construction ensures long-lasting performance, while the efficient design allows for effective snow removal even in heavy, compacted snow. The auger's design also minimizes clogging, ensuring smooth operation throughout the clearing process.

Another important characteristic of the Poulan PR624ES is its adjustable discharge chute. Users can easily direct the snow up to 40 feet away, allowing for greater control over where the snow is deposited. This feature is especially useful when dealing with large accumulations of snow or when needing to keep areas clear for traffic or pedestrians.

The PR624ES is designed for comfort and usability. It comes with ergonomic handles that provide a comfortable grip, reducing fatigue during extended use. Additionally, the snow blower is equipped with a six-speed transmission, including six forward and two reverse speeds, which allows the user to maneuver through varying snow conditions easily.

Enhancing its capabilities further, the Poulan PR624ES includes a headlight that increases visibility in low-light conditions. This is particularly useful for early morning or late evening snow clearing, ensuring that users can operate safely and effectively.

Overall, the Poulan PR624ES stands out as a reliable and user-friendly snow blower, combining power, efficiency, and thoughtful design features that make winter weather management much easier.
