The mounting holes on Quantum 3.5-inch form factor hard disk drives allow the drive to be mounted in any orientation. The figure provided identifies the location of the three mounting holes found on each side of the drive and the four mounting holes found on the PCB side of the drive. Dimensions given are in inches and millimeters.

Mounting Screw Clearance

Please note that the printed-circuit board assembly (PCBA) is very close to the mounting holes. For mounting #6- 32 UNC screws are recommended. Mounting screws should be no longer than 0.25 inches (6.35 mm) and maximum torque applied to the screws must not exceed 8 inch-pounds. Clearance from the drive to any other surface (except mounting surfaces) must be a minimum of 0.05 inches (1.25 mm).
