Use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type. Always remove old or weak batteries, which can leak chemicals that de- stroy electronic circuits.
Keep the Modem Mate away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts.
Wipe the Modem Mate with a damp cloth oc- casionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents.
Modifying or tampering with the Modem Mate’s internal components can cause a malfunction and might invali- date its warranty and void your FCC authorization to use it. If the Modem Mate is not performing as it should, take it to your local RadioShack store for assistance. If the trouble is harming the telephone lines, the telephone company might ask you to disconnect your Modem Mate until you have resolved the problem.
