READ THIS BEFORE INSTALLATION

We have designed your telephone to conform to federal regulations and you can connect it to most telephone lines. However, each phone that you con- nect to the telephone line draws power from the line. We refer to the power draw as the phone’s ringer equiva- lence number (REN). The REN is shown on the back of your phone.

If you are using more than one phone or other device on the line, add up all the RENs. If the total is more than five, your phones might not ring. In rural ar- eas, a total REN of three might impair ringer operation. If ringer operation is impaired, remove a device from the line.
