Step Three
Installing Batteries In the Transmitter
1. Use a Phillips
screwdriverto
loosenthe screw
from the battery
compartment,and
remove the cover.
2. Placea9Vbattery
(not supplied) in the
compartmentas
indicated by the
polaritysymbols
(+ and –).
3. Replacethe cover and secure it with the
screw.
Replacing Batteries in the Bug
1. Turnoff the Bug.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen
the screw from the battery
compartment,and remove the cover.
3. Remove the old batteries and place
three newAA batteries in the
compartmentas indicated by the
polaritysymbols (+ and –).
4. Replacethe cover and secure it with
the screw.
Driving the Honey Bee I Bug
ON/OFF is set to ON when shipping. Slide it
once to OFFan d then to ON.
Use thetransmitter's control buttons to drive
and steerthe Bug.
•Press
Zto move forward.
• Holddown Úto spin clockwise.
• Holddown Ûto spin counterclockwise.
WhenyoufinishdrivingtheBug,turnitoff.

• Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly.
• Do not burn or bury batteries.
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and
recommendedtype.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of
batteriesor rechargeable batteries of different
capacities.
• If you do not plan to use the bug for several days,
removethe batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals
thatcan damage electronic parts.
• Batteries purchased for use in this toy may pose a
hazardto children. Please check safety notice
suppliedwith batteries before use.
Notes
• If you do not play with the Bug for about five minutes
whileit is turned on, it goes into sleep mode. To
restartthe Bug, slide ON/OFF on the Bug to OFF,
thenON,orpressTry me on.
• When the Bug goes outside the transmitter’s range,
itstops. Hold the transmitter as high as possibl e
(withthe antenna vertical) to try to re-establish
contact.Continue to move closer to the Bug until
youcan control it with the transmitter.
