Convenience

•Trilingual On-Screen Display Allows the on-screen menu system to be displayed in one

of three languages (English, French, or Spanish).

•On-Screen Menu System On-screen displays make it easy to adjust most picture, sound, and convenience features from either the remote control or the TV front panel buttons.

•Caption Vision Closed Caption Capability2 Assists the hearing impaired, helps children learn to read, and aids in the teaching of English as

a second language. Built-in Closed Caption Decoder displays the audio portion of a program as text on the TV screen (when program is aired with the encoded signal).

Convenient scheduling system can be used in a variety of ways:

The Auto Clock Set3 circuitry reads the XDS broadcast signal containing time of day and date information, automatically setting the clock during initial setup as well as after most power interruptions.

VCR Capabilities

•6-Head System

Four video recording and pick-up heads on a single head drum provide improved special effect performance. With the new SFX design, you can visually pause on the tape at any speed, and slow-motion effects are clearer and more jitter-free. Two additional AFM audio heads allow Stereo Hi-Fi recording and playback. The combination of six heads allows full theatre video and audio, and allows full stereo performance copying from all high-level consumer and professional camcorders. Using a T-160 tape, up to eight hours of stereophonic audio can be recorded for extended playback, or six hours with any standard T-120 VHS tape.

•8-Event/1-Month Programmable Timer The built-in timer memory can be preset up to one month in advance to record as many as eight different programs automatically.

•Simplified On-Screen Programming

With the RCA remote control and on-screen displays, all timer programming can be done from the convenience of your chair. On-screen instructions guide the viewer through each programming sequence.

•Auto Repeat Automatically rewinds at the end of the tape and then begins replay.

•Real-Time Counter Displays exactly how long the tape has played or recorded to make locating segments easier.

•Digital Auto Tracking Plus Combines the best performance of an automatic digital tracking scan system, which automatically “locks” on the best signal, with the added convenience of manual override. Manual up/down tracking is sometimes preferred when rental tapes have been damaged or recorded on older recorders with tracking out

of adjustment.

•Auto Power On, Auto Play, Auto Rewind

Simply inserting a cassette in the VCR turns it on (Auto Power On). When a prerecorded cassette is inserted in the VCR, it automatically starts to play (Auto Play). When the end of the tape is reached, Auto Rewind automatically rewinds the tape.

•Quality Slow Motion

Allows quick return to a timer counter reading of 0:00:00. Convenient for watching a segment of tape several times.

•One Touch Recording (OTR) Simplifies the recording of a

TV show in progress. One button begins recording and sets the program length, so that the VCR records and switches
